Thanksgivukkah: A Once in a Lifetime Holiday
For the first time in roughly 125 years, and for the last time in many more centuries to come, the first day of Hanukkah and Thanksgiving land on the same day. This once in a lifetime melding lends itself to some of the most creative dishes we’ve heard of, as well as truly unique methods of celebration.
From pumpkin kugel to cranberry sauce-filled sufganiyot, this is definitely one for the ages! Here in Israel, we are especially excited to see how many American Jews will celebrate this holiday. ‘Thanksgivukkah’ allows American Jews to recognize both aspects of their culture simultaneously—which many may not have the opportunity to otherwise experience on a regular basis.
