A Weekend of Comic Books and Book Art

The ArtPlus Hotel presents “Possibility of a Book” and Jacques Fhima’s rare comic book collection. Do you love comic books and art? Then ArtPlus Hotel’s upcoming event is a must-see! On the last weekend of January (31.1- 1.2.2014) ArtPlus Hotel will host “Possibility of a Book” and Jacques Fhima’s unique personal comic collection. “Possibility of a Book” is an ongoing project examining the nature and status of Book Art. Numerous books from Israel and abroad will be on exhibition in the lobby. Simultaneously, a unique and rare glimpse into the world and collection of Jacques Fhima will take place in the dining room. His collection includes more than 400 extraordinary comic books from France from the 1970’s and 80’s. Fhima himself will be available to meet and discuss his collection with visitors. ‘Simple Messages’ room 107 Yochai Matos

  In this guest room, icluded in the ongoing project “The Room is on Fire” at Artplus Hotel, the work of artist Yochai Matos is featured. The peice entitled ‘‘simple messages’ is a sculptural light installation in the shapre of a heart and is made from some twenty neon tubes. Today the heart is a graphic sign which has become cliché, a brand name an icon. But by introducing it as a work of art Matos explores the meaning of its power in order to invoke diverse responses from the audience.
